BACK TO SCHOOL.... ( Julien )

Dear Diary ,

Today is wednesday and it's the first day back to school. Unfortunately, the holidays are over.
I'm sad. This year is a certificate year. I'm scared of the examination and my schedule is very bad. I finish at 5.30 every day. But it's cool because I'm with my friends from last year as all the students who learn German remain in the same class. So, this is good news to me. I'm OK but for the group of Spanish learners ... I'm not so sure. Most of them don't look happy. Probably because they're not with their friends. Maybe that's the reason, maybe not. It's not my problem anyway.
I know all my teachers, except the maths teacher. It's a woman who looks old and boring and I HATE maths ! It's too bad ! But I'm glad because my English teacher is very good and my French teacher is funny. He has a funny face ( but he's nice ) !
So, on this first morning, dear diary, we only have two periods. We have to take papers and bring them back to our parents. That's about all ! Time is nearly up and for the moment, I have no homework !!! Now, I'm going back home and in the afternoon, as I have a free ticket to take the bus, I may go to the MOVIES .. if I have enough money !

Dear student,
I read your entry and I am happy to find out that even though your schedule is frightful, there are some positive notes. Being with your friends certainly will help you overcome the difficulties that this year will bring.
I am the French teacher in Greenbelt Maryland, USA, and I look forward reading your diary entries. I will tell my students to go online and visit your website so they can also leave messages for you.
Question: how many foreign languages are you learning? You are also learning German? I lived in Munich, Germany for many years and speak German fluently. If you want I can also write something in German. Wie geht es Dir? Warum lernst Du Deutsch? Ich habe 11 Jahre lang in Deutschland gelebt und dort auch studiert. Sag was auf Deutsch das naechste Mal.
OK, this is it for today. Hang in there and do your best.

Dear Mme Cherubin,

I'm learning english for first language and spanish for second language.

You can learn for first language :

- German
- English
- Russian

You can learn for second language :

- Spanish
- Italian
- English (German have to learn English in second language)

That it !

Thank You to have visit this blog !

P.S : I love a book wich name is "The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants". I'm reading it in French but this story take place in Maryland ! Do you know this book ?

Anonyme a dit…

Of course I know the book. My daughter, Luisa, who is an avid reader has read it a few times. They also made a movie out of it.
So, you have to learn so many foreign languages. That is great!!! At our school, we offer Spanish, French, Russian, Latin, Italian and Japanese. Most students, though, only learn one foreign language but only for two years. That is why Americans in general do not speak any other languages. The language that is most popular is Spanish, because of the geographic vicinity of Mexico and Latin- America. Your English is vey good! Keep practicing!!!

OH lucie , a Wii is interesting if your sister loves games and if she often wants to play games. SO it depends... i like games and for me the Wii is very interesting.
I don't read your book but i want to know if i can read Harry Potter 7 in english ...

Anonyme a dit…

Hi. This is Mme Cherubin again. My daughter would like to buy a Wii as well. I think tough the Nintendo is good enough. I do not appreciate very much the time she would spend on the Wii if she received on. Plus they are so expensive!!! I think she should spend her money in something more useful!!! But, that is just my opinion.

Hello my name is alexandre I am in the class 3°4 as Lucy I I advise you to read the secret of endymion spring. i phink this book is very book

Anonyme a dit…

Dear mme Cherubin,

It's good ! I have the Wii now ! Why ? For Christmas :D No... It's my sister who bought it with her money. It's so funny ! I have a Nintendo DS and a Wii now ! If you want to offer the Wii at your daughter and if you have a Game Cube, I advise you to sell it. Because you can play at Game Cube's games with the Wii. Then, you will have the Wii less expensive. My mother say that I can play with my sister 1 hour a day maximum. I can't play at Wii when I see desperate Housewives cause it will be so long. That's all !

It's good that in your school, we can learn Japanese. I'm half japanese half French. :D

Anonyme a dit…

Dear ANONYME, :D

I think Harry Potter in english is very difficult ! But it depends what is your level in english. My level is too bad to read Harry Potter 7 ! If you really want to read it, you have also a dictionnary of difficults words in the book. But it's not free!

♥ I loooooove Harry Potter ♥

Anonyme a dit…

Dear Lucie,
are you really half Japanese? I have a couple of students who are also half Japanese and half American. They are in my upper level classes though, so I think they will not be participating in our correspondence project with Mme Sauliere. It is a good thing that we did not buy the Game Cube. We argued about it for a while. However, I think that we will wait a little longer before we buy a wii. Luisa, my daughter, is in 7th grade and school work is becoming more challenging. I think it is much better for her to spend time with her neighboring friends, play outside or go skating. Young people, nowadays, spend too much time in front of the computer or indoors. Anyway, when you have kids of your own you will understand the concerns of adults and of your parents. I think it is good that your parents restrict the time you spend playing with electronic devices.
Do you like "Desperate Housewives"? I watched it a couple of times but I thought it was quite silly really!!! I prefer to watch "Grey's Anatomy" but usually I have very little time to spend in front of the TV. I prefer to watch a good movie.
Talk to you soon....
Mme Cherubin

Anonyme a dit…

Dear mme Cherubin,

Yes I see Desperate Housewives. But I prefer Grey's Anatomy like you ! Unfortunately, in France, the season 3 of Grey's Anatomy took end in June. With my friends, we're waiting for the Season 4.

Your daughter Luisa is 12 ? My sister Clara is in 7th grade too.

I think it's good to Luisa if she plays with her neighboring friends! From what's going on around me , I haven't got many friends and we talk a lot in the playground or after the school. And I haven't got neighboring friends. They're a lot of little kids but not many teenagers.

Yes, I'm really half japanese :D It's a shame that your students who are half japanese half american can't participate in the correspondance. It's true that it will be not very interesting for them. I'm going to japan in april 2008 with my sister. Last winter, I went with my family at Boston and Cambridge. The houses were beautiful ! Just like Wisteria Lane !

Talk to you soon...

Dear Lucie,
you are so lucky to have the opportunity to travel and see the world. And you are lucky to be part of two very different cultures: French and Japanese. The reason why my students in upper level will not be corresponding with you is that they correspond through epals, an internet website. But I think you will have a great time corresponding with my other students. I have some very eager learners in other classes too. I also hope that you can develop some strong friendships this year, so later you can visit each other and perfect your language skills.
My daughter Luisa is very lucky. Some of her best friends live in the neighborhood, so she can call them and visit any time she wants, provided she does all of her homework first. Why don't you have many friends in Bordeaux? Did you just move there?
Mme Cherubin

Anonyme a dit…

Dear Mme Cherubin,

I have some friends in Bordeaux but not many. I came in Bordeaux 4 years ago so it's not the problem. I'm not very popular and I'm very shy. It's not so easy to make friends now. I think some people now just look if you're well-dressed (with clothes in fashion) and then, want to be your friends. It's appearances which is important to them. But it's just a few people. My best friends are in Japan. In France, I have some good friends but it's different.

I have to go ! I'm late !

Thank you very much to always answer to me.

Lucie

Unknown a dit…

Hi Lucie,
hang in there! You will find out one of these days that appearances can fool one most of the times! What is important is not whether one wears brand clothes or expensive clothes! Most important is your character, whether you are a person of integrity and what makes you the person you are! If those students are judging you by the clothes you wear, then you do not need them as friends. They are shallow and superficial. You are better off without them. True friends are those people you want to be around, because they make you feel good about yourself. They love you for who you are, even with your defects! Their love is unconditional, no matter whether you are tall, fat, ugly, thin, small, shy or just nerdy with untrendy clothes. They appreciate the person you are inside!!!
So, don't beat yourself up! If thy cannot appreciate you, then they do not deserve to be called your friends. Take it from someone who also was never very popular in school!!!!
