a dit…
I do not have a lot of recollections about the 60s. The only vivid thing I remember is that young people wanted to change the world for the better. They were tired of the status quo and wanted to revolutionize society to gain more freedom. I remember growing up and listening on the radio or TV about the Vietnam war. I remember also the years in which Martin Luther King led people in peaceful marches against segregation. I remember watching the news when MLK and Robert F. Kennedy were assasinated. Those were very troubled times. I remember the 70s more clearly, when every second Sunday, we had to leave the car in the garage and use the bike. We could skate on the streets undisturbed and that was really fun! Ahhhhhh... the good old days!!! Mme Cherubin
The Cassignol writers belong to 3 classes of "troisième"(= 9th grade ). They're all very nice and motivated pupils who share a real interest in the English language and culture. They are curious, creative and enthusiastic. This is only their fourth year as English learners but they're very willing to try and express in English what makes them happy, their passions as well as their concerns as teenagers. The aim is to share their feelings with their schoolmates but also with their American penfriends from Washington, so as to reach a better mutual understanding and tolerance. We all hope that you will enjoy their writings and will feel like encouraging them through your contributions to their blog.
